Optimises building engineering: the Beckhoff system solution

The new generation of building control is available in TwinCAT 3 Building Automation from Beckhoff. Engineering and control are simplified across all systems, because all functions are directly integrated in the TwinCAT 3 automation software. The implementation of the BACnet Supplement Revision 14 enables the seamless transition from TwinCAT 2 to TwinCAT 3 and extends e.g. alarm functions. As a specialist in PC-based control, however, Beckhoff is exhibiting much more in hall 10.3: for example, speech-based controller communication with TwinCAT Speech or the system-integrated creation of an individual user interface with TwinCAT HMI.

System-spanning building control: TwinCAT 3 Building Automation and BACnet

As a modular engineering tool, TwinCAT 3 Building Automation covers all systems: from heating, ventilation and air conditioning to sun shading, lighting and energy data acquisition. With eight interactive programming languages, full Visual Studio® integration and support for all programming and connectivity standards, TwinCAT 3 offers the user maximum engineering flexibility.

The implementation of BACnet Revision 14 enables users to implement a seamless transition from TwinCAT 2 to TwinCAT 3. Revision 14 provides the improved possibilities for alarm processing in TwinCAT in the BACnet standard. In addition, twelve further BACnet objects were implemented in the supplement, which represent simple data types as “Primitive Value Objects”. All object-oriented extensions of TwinCAT 3 are available. Users can now choose between more than 650 different combinations of basic hardware device, CPU model and operating system as certified controllers.

TwinCAT Speech: the controller that speaks

A new dimension of Smart Control is available in TwinCAT Speech. The software tool allows the controller to understand and output speech signals. Interaction between man and controller is thus significantly improved – for example in the implementation of offline-based cabin controllers in shipbuilding.

TwinCAT HMI: the simple way to an individual user Interface

TwinCAT integrates the Human Machine Interface directly in the familiar environment of Visual Studio®. Using TwinCAT HMI, users can quickly create an individual user interface and benefit from the simple orientation and intuitive navigation. The user interface can be executed on any HTML5-capable browser and device, irrespective of the operating system, resolution or display.

The new small controller for building automation: CX7000

The new small controller for building automation: CX7000

As a new entry-level class of the Embedded PC device series the highly compact CX7000 ideal for small control applications. It has an ARM-Cortex™-M7 single-core processor with 400 MHz, eight integrated multifunction inputs and four multifunction outputs. The CX7080 also has two serial interfaces, an RS232 and an RS485 interface, the protocol can be used neutrally. On the right, the CX7000 can be used with EtherCAT or K-Bus terminals can be extended. The following is programmed control with TwinCAT 3 via Ethernet interface.

New in the portfolio: the EtherCAT relay terminal

Beckhoff has rounded off its EtherCAT terminal portfolio with the EL2634 four-channel relay output terminal (250 V AC/30 V DC). The terminal has four potential-free, normally-open relays and offers users a high channel density in the range of relay output terminals.
